[英文筆記][Expression] That ship has sailed.

美劇中常聽到這一句耶！That ship has sailed.

✒ A particular opportunity has already passed.
That chance is now gone; it is too late.

字面上意思，船已經開走了。
用來表示錯失機會。
中文常用句應該就是公車過站才揮手的FU吧。

也有人會用 missed the boat, missed the bus,
還有That train has left the station.

來看看Reddit實例：
以前交往約兩年時，女生想結婚，但是男友當時還不想。
現在男生想結婚，她自己卻已經不想了，反正都已經決定會在一起。
她說：The ship has sailed.
Boyfriend [36]M wants to get married but I [32]M feel the ship has sailed

Friends也有喔~
